Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup fresh raspberries
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar for glaze
- 1 tablespoon raspberry jam for glaze
- 1 tablespoon milk for glaze
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract for glaze
- Sprinkles for decoration
Instructions:
Set the oven temperature to 175C 350F
Use butter or cooking spray to grease a donut pan
Mix the flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl
Put the egg, buttermilk, and melted butter in a different bowl
Blend thoroughly
Mixing until just combined, pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients
Take care not to blend too much
Mix the fresh raspberries into the batter gently
Pour the batter into each cavity of the greased donut pan, filling it to about two thirds full
A toothpick inserted into a donut should come out clean after baking for 12 to 15 minutes in a preheated oven, or until the donuts are lightly golden
Make the glaze while the donuts are baking
Blend the powdered sugar, milk, raspberry jam, and vanilla extract in a small bowl until smooth
After letting the donuts cool in the pan for a few minutes, remove from the pan and let cool completely on a wire rack
After cooling, dip each donut into the raspberry glaze, letting the excess fall to the bottom
While the glaze is still wet, sprinkle some sprinkles on top of the glazed donuts
Before serving, let the glaze settle for a few minutes
